Bound in Ashes
You were holding me for ransom
With your love chains strong.
I would scream and yell
And you said, “hush! Pretty baby don’t tell.”
So what I did was stay,
By your twisted rules I’d play
And to everything yes I’d say.
Hold the walls with your lies so the house don’t fall.
Hold the house with your lies so you don’t hear me cry.
I was bound in ashes
Dusk till dawn.
Burning me in your pretty fire
On and on.
Helpless desire
Rivers long.
So at night I’d count the stars
And dream of the angel land so far.
But I loved you.
I needed you to tell me I was yours
And you wanted me with all my flaws.
But that ain’t living;
It’s a curse that kept on giving
Hell and all its lies.
Closed up inside and hear only the echoes of my cries.
I needed to escape ‘cause …
I was bound in ashes
Dusk till dawn.
Burning me in your pretty fire
On and on.
Helpless desire
Rivers long.
Hold the walls with your lies so the house don’t fall.
Hold the house with your lies so you don’t hear me cry.
Hold the walls with your lies so the house don’t fall.
Hold the house with your lies so you don’t hear me cry.
I was bound in ashes
Dusk till dawn.
Burning me in your pretty fire
On and on.
Helpless desire
Rivers long.
Break the walls.
Empires must fall.
END.
